Mortgage Rates Stay Level

Despite Low Mortgage Rates, Home Sales Typically Slow in Autumn: For the third consecutive week, the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage held steady, with borrowing costs for home buyers and refinancers remaining near its lows for the year. Lawrence Yun, chief economist and senior vice president of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), issued a statement on September 3 reporting that despite reports of more jobs, lower interest rates, and overall economic improvement, home sales are typically slow for the autumn months. See Freddie Mac reports the following national averages with mortgage rates
